    After talks with the city and county councils over loan guarantees broke down, Notts County went into administration in June 2002, following the ITV Digital collapse. They spent about 18 months in administration and faced expulsion before a takeover was approved.

    Owner at the time: Albert Scardino (acting chairman)

    Outcome: Survived. Came out of administration in December 2003, about 18 months later, after the Football League approved a takeover by the Blenheim Consortium headed by Peter Joyce, ahead of a 9 December expulsion deadline.
