The club went out of business in February 1989 and was expelled from the Conference for failing to fulfil fixtures. No points deduction applied (the Football League's automatic administration penalty did not exist until 2004-05).
Outcome: Phoenix club. The debt-ridden club went out of business in February 1989 and was expelled from the Conference for failing to fulfil fixtures. Supporters formed Newport AFC three months later, and it became Newport County AFC about ten years later.
