Leicester City timeline
- · First Division · Administration
Leicester City, relegated from the Premier League and with debts of about GBP 30m, were put into administration with Deloitte and Touche as administrators. A consortium led by Gary Lineker later bought the club, and complaints about Leicester's promotion helped lead to the League's 10-point administration penalty.
Outcome: Survived. A consortium including Gary Lineker took the club out of administration during the second half of 2002-03 (club website); the old company was left in liquidation (Wikipedia, unverified). Leicester were promoted that season.
