Leeds United called in administrators KPMG on 4 May 2007 with debts of about GBP 35m, before the last Championship match of 2006-07, and were docked 10 points. After KPMG sold the club back to Ken Bates without an agreed CVA, the Football League imposed a further 15-point deduction for 2007-08.

Outcome: Survived. 10 points deducted immediately in 2006-07 (confirming relegation) and 15 more at the start of 2007-08 in League One because the club exited administration without a CVA; League share transferred to Leeds United 2007 Ltd under 'exceptional circumstances'. Old company in creditors' voluntary liquidation from 15 Feb 2008.
