Facing a winding-up petition from Customs and Excise and the Inland Revenue over unpaid VAT, Hull City were put into administration in the High Court with Kroll Buchler Phillips as joint administrators. Former Leeds commercial director Adam Pearson took over as sole owner a month later.
Owner at the time: Nick Buchanan (chairman)
Outcome: Survived. Adam Pearson bought the club from the administrators in March 2001 (BBC, 12 March 2001); club continued in the Third Division.
