Director and main backer Tony Smith called in the receivers in January 1995, right after the FA Cup tie with Sheffield Wednesday. Administrative receivers were appointed on 9 January 1995. Receivership is recorded here as an administration-type event. No points deduction applied (the Football League's automatic administration penalty did not exist until 2004-05).
Outcome: Survived. Paul Scally bought the club in May or June 1995. The receivers ceased to act on 29 June 1995 and a CVA was approved on 21 July 1995 (Companies House).
