The Co-operative Bank, owed about GBP 26m, put Derby County Limited into receivership and the club was immediately sold to a new board led by John Sleightholme. This was a receivership with an immediate sale rather than a formal administration.
Owner at the time: Lionel Pickering
Outcome: Survived. Receivership-style event: within minutes, the club was sold to Sharmine Limited (John Sleightholme, Jeremy Keith, Steve Harding) for a nominal sum, backed by a GBP 15m loan from ABC Corporation secured on Pride Park. No administration followed.

Derby County entered administration (Quantuma) on 22 September 2021 and were immediately deducted 12 points in the Championship. A separate 9-point deduction for accounting-rule breaches (16 November 2021) is not counted here.
Owner at the time: Mel Morris
Outcome: Survived. Quantuma administrators sold the club to David Clowes (Clowes Developments) on 1 July 2022, ending nine months in administration; Derby were relegated to League One in 2021-22.
