    First Division Crystal Palace called in administrators on 3 March 1999, with debts of GBP 7m to 9m, after owner Mark Goldberg overstretched himself buying the club from Ron Noades for GBP 23m. No points deduction applied (the Football League's automatic administration penalty did not exist until 2004-05).

    Outcome: Survived. Under administration until Simon Jordan's takeover in 2000 (a new company, CPFC 2000, took control).

  2. · Championship · Administration · -10 points

    Crystal Palace entered administration on 26 January 2010 with debts of about GBP 30m, facing an HMRC winding-up order, and the automatic 10-point deduction dropped them from ninth to 20th in the Championship.

    Owner at the time: Simon Jordan (chairman)

    Outcome: Survived. Administrators P&A Partnership; CVA approved 5 June 2010; administration ended 25 Jan 2011 per Companies House. Club continued in the Football League under new owners.
