Podcast 182: Winning at Dominoes 12 – Charlton Athletic: A Tale of Two Bonfires
This week’s 200% podcast tells the story of the club whose supporters set the template for the modern protesting fan. When Charlton Athletic abruptly left The Valley for the wholly inappropriate Selhurst Park, the fight was on to wrestle the club away from a world of property speculation and quiet decay. Once the club was back in the ownership of people who both cared about its future and were competent, a truculent local council had to be taken on at the ballot box and given the fright of their lives.
