This week’s 200% podcast is club-specific. In 1991, Nottingham Forest were one of the top division’s more experienced names. They’d just made the FA Cup final, had won the League Cup the year before, and a little over a decade prior had been the champions of Europe for two successive seasons. So, what went wrong? Brian Clough had to retire at some point, but the club’s slow drift downwards in the years following that seemed to come about because of a lack of planning over his succession. (This is the second time I’ve posted this, by the way – a wesbite crash a little earlier this evening deleted it in its original form.)
