It has been reported today that Johan Cruyff, one of the greatest footballers of all-time and a man who shaped the very role of the modern player, has died at the age of sixty-eight. There will be many tributes over the next few days or so that will express what Cruyff meant far more elegantly than I ever could, so I’m just going to leave this here – the 1971 European Cup final, played at Wembley, between Ajax and Panathiaikos.
