Podcast! The 200% World of Soccer, Part 3: Ajax Cape Town
This week’s 200% World of Soccer podcast this month shifts its attention to South Africa and to Ajax Cape Town. It’s not, as you might well work out, a club that we don’t know terribly much about, but we’ve done some reading and have formulated ill-thought out opinions on the subject, so this week we’re on the subject of the colonial legacy of Europeans in South African sport, the legacy of the 2010 World Cup finals, football’s role as the person of colour’s game – in opposition to rugby and cricket, of course – and the extremely important subject of how you pronounce “Ajax” in the first place. You can, of course, download this podcast by right-clicking and saving as here, and you can subscribe on Itunes by clicking here.
