A timewaster, then, for a Friday afternoon. It was twenty years ago this year that the First Division of the Football League was lining up for its last season before the breakaway that would change the face of English football forever, and this afternoon we are commemorating this by taking a trip back in time to the 1991/92 season and the Football League’s official review of the season. Times were, of course, very different to now. The First Division included, amongst others, Luton Town, Notts County, Oldham Athletic and Wimbledon, whilst the eventual destination of the championship ended up being Elland Road, at the end of Leeds United’s second season back in the First Division after the best part of a decade in the wilderness. Our thanks go to the original uploader of this magnificent historical artifact.
