Podcast 184: Winning at Dominoes 14 – You Are The Number One

by | Nov 5, 2019

This week’s 200% podcast takes us back to the late 1960s and a revolution in football broadcasting. Sweeping changes to the ITV network meant the handing of a crucial contract to a completely untried broadcaster, and with sport at the heart of their schedule, how they would cover football would be a big deal. The new company took on the BBC with The Big Match, a local TV highlights show that would change the face of football broadcasting in this country forever. This is the story of how that came about, how the BBC reacted, and the chain of events that would lead to the formation of the Premier League, almost a quarter of a century later.

There’s a bunch of different ways in which you can subscribe to the 200% podcast.
