As you are probably already aware, the weather took an axe to this weekend’s non-league fixture list and only a handful of matches took place anywhere. The FA Trophy Third Round matches were completely called off and will be played at a later date, so the draw for the quarter-finals, which is to be made tomorrow, will have a somewhat odd look about it. In lieu of this, our non-league videos of the week will take a few steps back in time, to have a look back at some of the FA Trophy finals of the past.

We start off with the 1984 final between Bangor City and Northwich Victoria, which went to a replay at Stoke City’s Victoria Ground, highlights of which are also included on this video. We can follow that up with the 1985 final between Boston United and Wealdstone, a match which saw Wealdstone become complete the non-league double of winning the Football Conference and the FA Trophy in the same season, a record that has been completed several times since, but was unprecedented at the time.

Next up are two matches from the 1990s: the 1990 final between Barrow and Leek Town, and the 1996 match between Macclesfield Town and, making a return to Wembley Stadium, Northwich Victoria. Finally, we have a couple of matches from recent years, the 2009 final between York City and Stevenage Borough, and last year’s final between Darlington and Mansfield Town. Our thanks go to those that took the time to edit and upload these videos – hopefully, by next weekend the weather will have cleared up and everything can get back to normal again!
