Some time towards the end of last year, I undertook a project for my own amusement which has slowly grown into a bit of a monster. Over the last few months, the 200% YouTube Video Archive has grown into something considerably bigger than I probably ever expected that it would be and, although you’ve been able to access it from the homepage of this site for some considerable time, it’s time to give you a brief trip around this particular resource and ask for your assistance in expanding it still further.

You can access the archive by clicking here. There is a small section on Serie A and a collection of documentaries, but the lion’s share of the archive is made up of highlights – and the occasional full match – from matches in this country between 1950 and 1992. The matches between 1950 and 1964 are compiled together, because the televising of football matches in Britain was so patchy until the introduction of Match Of The Day in 1964, and we also have playlists for every World Cup finals between 1962 and 1994. And on top of all of that, there is a section for documentaries and other compilations which would not otherwise have a home.

There’s no discrimination made between which clubs make an appearance and which ones don’t, and this is where you guys come into the equation. If there are any matches available on YouTube which I have missed out that would be appropriate to be added to one of these playlists, please add a link to them in the comments at the bottom of this post and I will add them accordingly. With your assistance, we can vastly expand this archive beyond the size it has today.
