Dotmund’s Eureux Tapestry: Day 5

Tuesday sees another part of the Eureux Tapestry fall into place after an eventful day in France yesterday. We have Spain’s late show against the Czech Republic, a goal scored for Ireland by somebody whose name has now changed to Hoola-houghton – one for the thirtysomethings plus, there – and Italy, the old masters, being more Italian than anybody could have imagined in overcoming a disjointed looking Belgium side. Dotmund’s Eureux Tapestry: Day 4

Today’s instalment of our epic Eureux Tapestry series – and what could be a better way of catching up with all the latest international football than fifteenth century French religion? – reflects on yesterday’s matches, featuring the massed ranks of Northern Ireland’s defence, Verdan Corluka spilling blood for his cause and Jerome Boateng’s goal-line acrobatics. Fortunately, there’s no reference to Jogi Loew sniffing his own junk, something for which I think we should all be grateful. Click on the image to see it in its full, original glory.   Twohundredpercent is, after ten years, endeavouring to try and change...

Dotmund’s Eureux Tapestry: Day 3

We had another terrible day in Marseille yesterday, so here’s a little light relief in the form of another instalment of Dotmund’s Eureux Tapestry, which features Gareth Bale’s bun, a little fraternal disagreement and, of course, quite a few bottles flying through the air. You can enlarge this picture to its normal size by clicking on it.     Twohundredpercent is, after ten years, endeavouring to try and change itself into a more commercially-focused website, complete with an e-magazine for subscribers. Independent content producers should be recompensed. If you enjoy what we do here or consider that we do...

Time then, for the final round of Euro 2016 alternative kits, designed for us by Chris Oakley because the kits that have been designed by the manufacturers for the teams taking part in this summer’s European Championships have been a pretty dreadful bunch. This evening we’re up to Group F, which features two of the outsiders in the tournament, Iceland and Hungary, as well as Portugal, featuring Cristiano Ronaldo. You can find more of Chris’s designs over at his home for such matters, Kitbliss, and you can follow him on Twitter by clicking here. Austria: Pretty much a slight...

Dotmund’s Eureaux Tapestry: Day Two

Well, the first day of the 2016 European Championships is over and it’s reasonable to say that it was a pretty dismal one for the English, at least. We’ve already addressed the disturbances in Marseille last night on these pages, so it’s probably time for a little light relief in the form of day two of Dotmund’s Eureaux Tapestry, which will be telling the story of this summer’s European Championships through the medium of a Bayeux tapestry-esque illustration. So, featuring no-necked melts in England shirts, trigger-happy, tear gas wielding gendarmes, and happily celebrating French people, here’s the second instalment...
