    Luca Toni is without doubt the single most Italian man I have ever seen on a football field. He also has one of those names, like Jeff Parrott, who you really have to say all of. I’ve never heard a commentator just call him Toni, even in the heat of the moment.

    Then again, in John Motson’s case, it’s probably because he’s so bewildered he’s convinced himself his surname is Lucatoni.

    Bandana or no, have ya seen Buffon’s missus? Just proves once again that wearing big rubber gloves and a handkerchief is a look that works for some people. Must put on a pair of marigolds and a knotted union-jack hankie thenight and go up the town, see if it works for me.
