In my 25+ years as a Spurs fan I struggle to remember us having an out and out left sided player, let alone one of any note.

Bale, like fellow country man Giggs before him, is proving that having one in your side brings a balance and a dynamic that so many teams lack.

Suddenly being a right back, often thought to be one of the ‘easiest’ positions to play, when up against the likes of a Gareth Bale, is not so attractive anymore.

There’s electricity in the air alright!

noshow, you forget about our dear Mr Ginola?

No one could forget Mr Ginola but I seem to recall he was a right footed player, playing on the left.

Not downplaying Bale since he was brilliant, but shouldn’t Modric get some credit for the assist on the first goal, since it was he that hopped and skipped and passed to Van Der Vaart?

[…] Match of the Midweek: Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Internazionale “Maicon is not a bad player, by any stretch of the imagination. He didn’t win the Italian national lottery to win a place in the Inter side, and he isn’t related to Massimo Moratti. He broke through the youth system in the fiercely competitive world of Brazilian football and into the Cruzeiro team. From there he was transferred to Monaco, where he again managed to hold onto his place in the first team and attract the interest of the Italian giants, Internazionale. He has played well over one hundred games for Inter, and has won four Serie A champions and, earlier this year, the UEFA Champions League. He has also played over sixty games for Brazil.” (twohundredpercent) […]
