    When Grimsby released Justin Whittle in 2008, suddenly I was older than every single one of the players at the club I support. That’s an unpleasant milestone, believe me.

    The real reason why Wilf Mannion played for Cambridge United was that he was barred from playing in the league and it was the Eastern Counties league rather than the Southern League!
