I was more gutted last night than i was after England v Germany. A great game played with passion and committment, such drama, and Gyan, well – balls of steel.

If the game was so good then why do you feel the need to moan about the commentators for most of this article rather than talking about the game itself? I agree they’ve been poor in the tournament, but it seems that every single match report on this site has to make reference to them. Maybe one of the writers could do a separate report on the commentators?

Also constant diving of Ghana players has not been mentioned in the article. And why is it important? That’s how they got the last minute free kick which led to the whole drama situation. Bye, bye Ghana, I won’t miss you.

    Fair points.

I do go on about the commentators don’t I? I hold my hand up to that. It’s because I just take notes on what I see and hear as the evening unfolds and write about whatever I’ve thought noteworthy, on or off the field, or in the studio.

(although there IS a separate report to be written about the commentators, you’re right. Because they’ve been far worse than poor in this competition – downright unprofessional much of the time).

Sorry if I didn’t get the balance right last night. I thought it was a fabulous game and I did try to convey that.

Good one Peter! The commentation is so poor, that I watch the games with Arabic commetry which is real good and makes you get into the match. I think Ghana deserved to go through after a good match. But they did great as a team lacking experience.

It’s not just you that does it mate, and for most of the World Cup matches I don’t blame you in doing it because a lot of the ones I’ve seen have been terrible so the commentators are the most interesting thing to talk about. There were a lot more talking points in this one though – I know some of them have been covered in another article anyway.

This wasn’t a complaint about the articles themselves either, which I’ve enjoyed reading. Keep up the good work!

I really enjoy the comments on the commentators. If I just wanted a blow-by-blow account of the game I can read it on any major sporting website.
