    Was it my imagination, or did Clive Tyldesley keep putting on a funny accent whenever he mentione Kaka? Almost like he was making jungle bird noises… K-KARRR, K-KARRR…

    Not your imagination, Bob. He used the same accent when mentioning Bastos but, strangely, didn’t use it for any of the other Brazilian players. Jonathan Pearce also enjoys attempting to wow his audience with his native pronunciations of players’ names but at least he does it for the whole team not just his favourites.

    Most odd. Perhaps it’s the effect of commentating at altitude…
