Match Of The Seventies – 1970/71

Many years ago, the BBC produced two (relatively) light-hearted TV programmes about football in the 1970s and the 1980s. Some enterprising soul has seen fit to put them up on YouTube so, over the next few weeks I’m going to be putting them up on here. Each episode is divided up into four ten minute long chunks, and they should show up on here in the correct order. Thanks, then, to the original uploader, and a quick message to any watching BBC lawyers – if you’re really that concerned about this copyrighted material being available on the internet, why not release them for sale on DVD, hmm?

    Mr Blackett

Beautiful. From now on, all footage of Brian Clough must be accompanied by Theme From Shaft. It’s the only piece of music worthy of such a legend…maybe White Lines (Don’t Do It).

To be fair the Beeb milked this concept a decade or more so ago.
Conveniently forgetting the period when they had minimal top-flight coverage.
And after they’d already brought out a whole range of videos about 20 years ago like ‘101 Great Goals’, which was later duplicated in their chronological presentations!
