    I don’t buy it – all playoff’s are a creation of the media to generate income. They are a reward for mediocrity. Remember it’s a league and those who lasted the pace over a whole season are to be awarded.
    Take the game back to sanity and away from TV executives.

    TV and media can’t be used to explain the play-offs, certainly not by themselves, because there are so many of them taking place at many levels of football which aren’t shown on TV and are of little or no interest to anyone except the clubs involved.

Yes, the only media interest in Bath City’s play off matches over the last two weeks has been from Radio Bristol and the Bath Chronicle but they nevertheless generated much excitement in the city – a crowd of 4865 at Twerton Park for the final against Woking was Bath’s largest for many a year when crowds are usually in the 6 or 700s. Anything that focuses attention on wee clubs who are usually overshadowed by big football or (in Bath’s case) other sporting institutions in the city has to be a good thing.
