The celebrations at the end of the video are pure opera.

And in many years time I can tell my grandchildren that I was there. It was painful as a FCUM fan, but a pleasure to see Durham celebrate as we shook hands with their fans outside the ground. They could be no doubt, given the way that they threw themselves into every tackle all day that they deserved the win.

So many clubs with financial difficulties seem to adopt the ostrich approach, continuing to bury their head, carry on playing silly wages and hoping for a miracle. Durham cut their cloth as soon as the problems came about… and this will have been a long, long season for them. Hopefully they can bounce back next season… who knows, given the finances of so many other clubs, they could end up on -3 points and still be reprieved!

I’m that uninformed I even missed the Sky bit, but I have to say that’s the most heartwarming thing I’ve read in eons. Well done Durham amd well done 200% for bringing it to us.

Heart-warming stuff. Well done Durham, and well done the FCUM fans. That’s what real football should be like.
