Something of a Friday time-waster for you here this morning, with “The Greatest Goals Of World Cup USA ’94″. Note the slight change in name from the previous videos in this series. For whatever reason, it was decided that the compilation vdeo for the 1994 World Cup would not include all of the goals scored in the tournament. According to this video, there were 140 goals scored in the 1994 World Cup, but only a paltry 55 make this compilation, which is also notable for some absolutely excrutiating music and a commentary so bland that it slips through the viewer like a dose of figs.
Anyway, most of the most important moments are here, including Eric Wynalda’s free-kick for the USA against Switzerland, Ray Houghton looking every inch the Irishman abroad, the surprising adventures of Sweden and Romania and the least lovable World Cup winning Brazilian team of all time. It is also worth keeping an eye on the terrible kits on display (special mention goes to the host nation for their wavey red and white stripes and denim effect change kit) and some disgraceful attempts at hair-sculpting. The narrator on this occasion is anonymous, although we suspect that it may be ITV stalwart Tony Francis. Any further suggestions would be most welcome.

Bloody hell, I had this video.
