Ladak likes to play the media. It’s been known for some tome that the current owner of the ground, Ben Pickering, wants to sell to a developer for housing when KTFC’s lease runs out in three years time and this is clearly supported by the Local Authority. However, Ladak thought he had an agreement in principle with Asda, for them to build a new ground a mile or so away just off the A6116, on the back of Asda gaining planning permission for a new supermarket. A few days after Ladak went public, Asda withdrew and Ladak believes that Kettering Borough Council withdrew their support for this proposal. According to the Borough Council, Ladak hasn’t responded to two recent letters from the them inviting the club to put forward their detailed proposals for anew ground.

In my opinion, the 6 weeks deadline is Ladak’s way in trying to put pressure on the Council and it’s leader while the club are in the national lime light.

You forget to mention though that the Council then suddenly came up with the alternative of ASDA building a totally out of character supermarket ‘shed’ in the ‘Heritage Quarter’ of the traffic gridlocked town centre………in return for new Council Offices on the edge of town!

Actually, the first time I heard of that was when it was mentioned by Ladak when being interviewed before the match! Strange it was never mentioned in any of the numerous articles in the ‘Northants ET’ last Thursday?
