As usual from 200%, an interesting article.
I raised an eyebrow at the statement that Germany is not part of Europe’s Big 4 leagues while France is!

I would say, actually, Ken, that there is a top three in Europe of Spain, Italy and England with France alongside Germany in the second tier. Corruption in German in football has a long and ignoble history, by the way – I can’t recommend “Tor!”, the history of German football, highly enough.

“Having said that, however, the FA take the potential of the problem very seriously.”

Have you tried to raise an issue of Referee impartiality with the FA, the FL or the Refs Association. You are given very short shrift indeed and told in no uncertain terms that there is no bias in the English game. One of my site’s readers tried to push the case after an especially curious display of Refereeing and was basically left with the impression that the complaints of supporters, players and managers are ignored because they are he injured parties – normally they have lost – and “well they would say that”

It strikes me from the experiences I’ve heard from people who have CCed me to complaints to the league, from players comments (normally specifically not for publication because those players do not want to get on the wrong side of Referees) and from brave managers like Jim Gannon who are prepared to speak up that if the FA and FL are concerned about this issue then they are damn sure that they give supporters the impression that there is no problem and that those supporters input on the issue is worthless.
