Would appear that Honduras are going to be stretched quite thin in the final round of group games!

To be fair to “Clive Thomas” he blew the whistle before Benzema “got his shot away”, as the slightly-dodgy-sounding saying goes. We didn’t see the actual shot on telly because the referee’s whistle triggered an immediate (camera) shot of the French bench…AND there had already been a few seconds more than the allotted three minutes of stoppage time. AND…AND…the Swiss keeper stopped mid-dive.
Still, this gives me the chance to wonder aloud what Robbie Savage would have thought of Clive Thomas refereeing at all at a World Cup finals, given that referees from countries whose “own domestic league isn’t that strong” really shouldn’t be getting such games.
