    Hopefully the result has tempered the hype just a little bit. I think the result also helped in that it has highlighted to the team themselves that there is a lot of work to do before they can become world-beaters. England can’t get away with that sort of defending. Maybe Saturday’s events will focus minds.

    The Brazil game will probably do more to the set the tone pre-World Cup – it could send the press into a hype frenzy, or it could show up England’s current failings.
