Brilliant piece. I have been battling depression for nigh on 3 years now and each day is its own battle to get through to bedtime without losing control. Wilkins was indeed a fine player (and decent enough Football Italia pundit imo) and I truly hope he is able to come out of depression a stronger person.

    Good luck, Butch.

There is a big stigma associated with depression and I have nothing but respect for Ray Wilkins to be so candid and admitting to his problems. I have also been battling from depression for a long time, but seeking help is the best thing that you can do. I have been on medication for three years and after things hitting rock bottom and letting myself and my family down badly, things are now gradually improving. Good luck to Ray a real decent person, and all the other people suffering from depression, we are not alone and we all need to become stronger together.
