    Simon Corney has been trying to get out of owning Oldham for some time I believe. No impropriety to it as far as I am aware, but Oldham fans might do well to look into the cost of running their club as it currently stands. That Vaughan’s name even comes into the frame may indicate some level of desperation perhaps?

    Lest we forget his attempts to merge Chester with Tranmere with the plan being to sell Prenton Park and move the club into a purpose built stadium near the former Cammell Lairds shipbuilding site.

    From all accounts the meeting he attended with both sets of supporters at Prenton Park was eventful.
