Er, not quite as “clear-cut” as you suggest. Only he will know if it was deliberate but the more I see it the more unintentional it looks. And it wasn’t intentional the he had every right to celebrate in the same way as every other goal.

I’m a huge fan of Suarez, and when he puts it all together on the pitch it is a fantastic watch.

The closest thing in my mind was Henry’s infamous handling against Ireland. I feel it was very similar, as the player clearly did not lunge out and intend to use their hands to play the ball, but once it was there, clearly took advantage and are asking the officials to catch them. Despite being a Liverpool fan, now just as back then, I feel that it is extremely poor sportsmanship not to pick up the ball from the back of the net, walk to the referee, and explain what just happened.

We all know by watching Suarez’s often vocal and heated performance he probably is incapable of alot of considered thought when playing the game, but he would have gone a long way to healing the relationship he has with fans of the game by doing the right thing.

Not seen the goal myself, but, the Mansfield Town manager Paul cox had no complaints stating he thought it was unintentional.

If it hadn’t have been Saurez there would hardly have been a mention of it. Easy column inches and rolling news. He’s an easy target.

The lad’s not been perfect in the past, but did nothing wrong. I don’t believe it was intentional and naturally enough he put the ball in the net.

Well done Paul Cox in his reaction and his team with their performance and attitude.
