Match Of The Past: Crewe Alexandra

By on Jan 2, 2013 in Latest, Video | 0 comments

We continue our run of archived matches of the clubs of Football League One with Crewe Alexandra, and six matches from the years between 1987 and 2010 kicking off with Crewe’s trip to Plainmoor on the last day of the 1986/87 season to play Torquay United with the home side needing a result to avoid becoming the first club to be automatically relegated from the Fourth Division and into the Football Conference. Next up are a couple of matches from the early 1990s, a home match against Tranmere Rovers from the 1990/91 season, and then an FA Cup match against the Liverpool-based non-league club Marine from the 1992/93 season. Next, we have a couple of matches from the middle of that decade. First up is a short trip to The Racecourse Ground to play Wrexham from March 1996, and then from the following season a semi-final first leg match from Gresty Road against Luton Town. Our final match is a quite remarkable match from just a couple of years ago, an away match from October 2010 against Chesterfield.
