One really could not make this up.

Are the knuckledraggers really so desperate to cling on to any straw that might save their “institution” that they believe this man?

Or are they really as thick as they look?

Several paragraphs in, I gave up.
If all you can do is split hairs, e.g. we were or were not members of the SPL – very clear that he refers in one instance to club, in the other to company.

If you want Green to speak with the legalistic accuracy of a barrister, why do you not demand that of all chief executives?

For the sake of the article and those who continue to wade, I hope your points became more substantial. If not, ask yourself why you have spent so much time constructing this article.

    Well Mark,
Just another derogatory Biased Interpretation from another Reporter (and there are many) with massive Chips on there shoulder who will say and do anything when they think Rangers seem to be surviving And of course with the comments about Green and the Shares Hoping that your comments will put doubt in the mind of the Fans Pledges, your flogging a dead horse mate Rangers supporters are oblivious to your Anti Rangers comments and only want there team to survive yes I know you would have liked Rangers to have been put through a Mincer and obliterated but it ain’t going to happen regardless how much BILE you spout, Feel sorry for someone who has hatred of a club that much that they have got to right this rubbish.

Well ‘Hegesippus’ and Jim i find your comments very interesting, not a Rangers of Celtic fan, so i don’t have a bias (that’s obvious to me at least).

Is it the case then that Green is beyond questioning? Do you not find some of the contradictory statements that he has put out of concern? Has the recent experience of ownership that destroyed the previous incarnation of your club made you wary? I find the ‘happy clappy’ tone of your comments worrying for the future of the team that i take it you support. I did sense a level of bias in your comments.

Football clubs fail when owners are not challenged and when questions are not asked. Mr Green may well turn out to be a fine custodian of the new club, but surely there have been enough comments of concern to at least make you question some aspects of his ownership to this point. If this turns out to be another false dawn then what next? That should be enough to prompt a little critique of what is happening shouldn’t it?

I don’t believe that questioning an owner amounts to ‘hating’ a club, i’ve been involved in grops that have asked very straightforward questions of my clubs owners and a healthy (i.e. not one sided) dialogue is a minimal requirement in building a positive future for a club. if you believe that criticism could cause the collapse of the fan confidence then maybe you should question why confidence is that brittle, put some questions together based on that and then ask those questions to the owners. If you get some straight answers then maybe your on the right track, prevarication or dismissal of your ‘right’ to have answers may tell its own story.

Simply burying heads in the sand and assuming that this time it will be ok hasn’t worked before has it? So why would it work now?

    Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring

Everything Charles Green says seem to contradict his previous statements. The man is a bafoon, but a sleekit bafoon that wants to steal as much money as he can from gullible rangers fans before the s hits the fan. For rangers fans I can only conclude people believe what they want to beleve. Rangers fans should take heed from the experience of Sheffield fans. Optimism was short lived at Sheffield; Green was faced by criticism from fans early on when a group of Sheffield United fans called on the Department of Trade and Industry to investigate the stock market floatation of the club. The group led by Barrie Cottingham, then chief executive of SIG Insulation argued that ‘documents sent to United’s shareholders at the time of the float were inaccurate and misled some shareholders as to the value of their shares’, according to reports at the time it was clear that Sheffield United and Green in no way accepted the claim that the documents were incorrect, (but they were).

Very well written and incisive. It really is a shame that so many oldco fans have so much a need for the past that they hang onto the coat tails of a man whose head is akin to a town hal clock. His sense of reality bears no resemblance to actuality and even the most ardent fan of Rangers, now in liquidation, must surely realise that, if it keeps the masses, (sorry…. no pun intended), throwing their good money afetr their bad, he will call a spade a lawnmower!

Mark. Perhaps you should have added the Dallas Cowboy commercial partnership which, amazingly, and I quote, “No one on this end, (Dallas cowboys), is familiar with any such conversation.”

  9. Jim says:

Whether you are Thai Tim, Tiny Tim, or just a plain Tim, Its what you would like him to be as you are just hoping he sinks well time will tell, but at the moment Rangers are in a much better place than they were a few months ago and that’s what matters to the Supporters, Yes you are entitled to your opinion but what beggars belief is the amount of the other half that feel they need to come onto the Rangers Forums to spout there rubbish I’m sure your doing it out of concern, NOT!!

  10. Matt says:

It’s a shame that Keys and Gray were questioning him. Absolutely clueless when it comes to finance and they were the pinnacle of the Sky destruction of the game we love – they were finely tuned to ignore this kind of thing so why would they now press someone?
