Brian Little – Slow Decline Or Varied Career?

  2. Little’s spell at the Villa is the crux here. Many managers have seen reputations damaged following spells in the Premier League, unforgiving as it is: see also Danny Wilson, Peter Reid, Tony Mowbray and Mick McCarthy (although he is now getting another chance.) How could Villa possibly have repeated that fourth placed finish? The only way from there was downwards. Now Martin O’Neill is facing the same problem. Could he be similarly discredited eighteen months from now?
