    Great fourth (and final?) part.
Yes, K’s will continue to be looked after, no matter how much a few of their fans whine. Yes, they got screwed by previous owners and then the asset-stripper Khosla who wanted to build a hotel. I note though, that they didn’t go down the fan-owned route themselves, despite incredibly low overheads and a modest but strong fanbase. They don’t even have to pay £10,000 a year rent (and, by the by, we don’t have to play them in a preseason friendly every year, which used to pay for that) since the Royal Borough of Kingston sold the thin perimeter lease around two sides of the stadium to us – enabling us to do the extension of the Kingston Road End…. and hopefully improve the awful John Smith Stand in a year or two.
K’s will be left with a fantastic stadium if and when we ever get than proper permanent home stadium in or near SW19. Nobody will buy it with K’s security of tenure in place (although then again, we had a sporting covenant on Plough Lane), and if we do take the next, very high, leap up towards League One playoffs or nosebleed central in the Championship, we would need a place for our ladies and reserves teams to play.
Alternatively, we remain stuck in Kingston and have to redevelop there, just to meet demand. :/
Either way, I can see us hanging on to Kingsmeadow.

What is the latest on a return to Merton? Is there any truth in the rumour about Colliers Wood, or is the dog track still the most likely location?

    Decent article.

I agree, when we eventually move, we should keep Kingsmeadow. We (the fans, not a corporate sponsor) have literally spent 3-4 million pounds on buying it and all the extensive renovations that were needed especially in the first few years(condemned kitchens and public park-like pitch anyone?)

Not to mention the hundreds of hours spent by AFCW volunteers every year in maintaining it.

K’s can play there forever, AFCW reserves youth/ladies/reserves etc plus maybe get a rugby team in which would cover the overheaads
