    Perhaps start giving red cards for clear diving in the box. After all, if you can get a red for preventing a clear goal-scoring opportunity, why not get a red if you try and cheat to gain a goal-scoring opportunity?

    Just make it a complete non contact sport like Basketball.
    Let each team take the ball up to the opposition penalty area, fart arse around for 30 seconds, have a shot, a big goalmouth scramble.
    Then the defending team has a go etc etc.
    Win win situation and probably a 24-23 final score.
