    An excellent piece!
Who can ever forget the marvellous Peter Jones? Those of us who were brought up on his wonderfully atmospheric and evocative commentaries can only shake our heads in despair when we now have to listen to the likes of Alan Green on Radio Five Live5. Peter Jones/Bryon Butler versus Alan Green/John Motson? No contest!

I had the pleasure of meeting him in the late 80’s, he gave out the awards at our local club. He put a few ‘large ones’ away and was such good fun. Beautiful commentator, i doubt he’d like the game today though
