    The stats on the BBC website showing that England have won a higher percentage of games without Rooney than with him were certainly interesting.

    I can’t remember him ever turning in a truly brilliant performance at an international tournament. He was good not great at Euro 2004, but other than that I think he’s been more of a liability when it comes to the business end of these tournaments.
