Braga just had a bit too much quality on the night but Blues gave it a go. They looked better offensively after bringing Burke on and on another day could have nicked a draw with a bit of luck.
Blues aren’t out of the Europa League yet I think it was clear from the start that Braga are going to win the group, leaving the last slot between the other three sides. (Club Brugge already picked up a win as well) It would require good performances, winning both the home games and getting at least something away, but it isn’t impossible.

I find the belittling of the League Cup disappointing; it was incredible to go to Wembley and actually win a trophy. For example last season West Brom played a weakened side in the quarters against Ipswich when I would have but the strongest side out and tried to win the game. Not only a trophy but European nights in my view this is the things the fan wants to see. Even if we assume that the LC win was responsible for the relegation it was worth the price. I mean we’re used to being in the Championship anyway and 48 years of nothing was ended by the trophy. It is also a trophy that the lesser teams have more of a chance in if they go for it.

The Europa League is undermined by the 3rd placed group stage Champs League sides coming in to it. That should be scrapped for starters.
