    A very good summary. As you allude to, The “Battle of Britain” label no longer makes any sense- all the happened on Thursday was a rich team beat a poor one. When teams like Hearts do produce someone even moderately talented it won’t be long before they end up at the Old Firm or lower-half Premier League/Championship. Your last sentence is very telling- European club competition has now been stitched up in such a way that it’s hard for teams from 40/45 odd countries to get excited about.
