Barton won’t be that much of a bargain for the majority of Premier League clubs when you factor in his £60,000 a week wages. As usual, Ashley’s timing is abysmal but can’t help feeling that Barton (and his agent) have been angling for a free all along. The people who suffer, once again, are the fans. Ashley’s clearly pumping the club for a sale. A concerted boycott would speed the process up considerably.
