    They deserve their chance, right enough. However, there was a real lack of quality from both sides yesterday, one cracking shot aside. Owen Coyle has a massive job on his hands – although that said, with Hull, Sunderland, Wolves, Birmingham and a second-season Stoke side also in the Premier League, it is possible that they’ll scrape safety.

    I don’t see the problem with our national stadium being used to host important football matches myself.

    Well done Burnley, Scunthorpe (especially), Gillingham and Torquay.
