Tricky one this, on the one hand if the semis are to be held at Wembley then there will be the opportunity for a greater number of supporters to attend the match. On the other hand, making all those supporters travel from the north- west of England, where the big football clubs are situated, to London does seem rather perverse.

I am presently involved in the developement of a site in Wilmslow for the purpose of construction of a 30,000 seater football stadium for the use by a local club, which shall remain nameless. Wilmslow has excellent motorway links, and it would not be too much trouble to increase the size of the ground to make it suitable for the playing of FA Cup semis between north west teams.

Apros pro the 1979 semi, I was at the replay at Goodison, a number of the party I was with were set upon by Liverpool ‘fans’ in the away car park after the match. It was not such an innocent age after all.

Sorry, but meant to write above:

Why is the Man Utd V Everton semi not at Villa Park or City’s ground? Would be so much better.
