‘There are no obvious candidates for a team that wear yellow and blue’.

I’d instinctively bet on a yellow and blue scarf belonging to a Shrewsbury Town fan.

My local team here in Belgium – Royal Union St Gilloise – has a “shrine” to yellow and blue behind the supporters’ club bar, a collection of scarves and other memorabilia from clubs that wear the same colours.

Shrewsbury Town play in blue and amber and as the club refused our requests to supply traditional bar scarves we decided to do our own.

We sold 500 of them(10% of our average gate).

The club has since had at least 3 attempts at doing bar scarves but they failed to realise that it is the traditional look that people want.

Now, who want’s a bobble hat?
