So you’re not an MK Dons fan then? :)

Was there not a thawing in the relations between MK Dons and AFC Wimbledon a little while ago, when some of the trophies were handed back? I can’t remember the exact details.

What are the fans of MK Dons supposed to do? Disappear into the cracks in the League pyramid? WSC’s decision not to officially recognise ‘Franchise’ smacks of the ‘Looney Left’ and suffocating self-righteousness.

I don’t want to see the franchise system become a part of the UK’s football fabric, and I feel deeply for the fans of the former Wimbledon, but in my opinion some of the ongoing reaction is utterly unbalanced.

Excellent article. If we are to avoid franchising happening again and even becoming the norm, then it’s vitally important that these points continue to be made.

“What are the fans of MK Dons supposed to do?” asks Michael. Well, they could try supporting a legitimate football club instead. There was no need for them to steal a club and a Football League position from another set of fans. There were plenty of them around already before the franchise rolled into town.

WSC’s decision not to officially recognise the franchise smacks only of having principles. Some people find this hard to deal with. But then why waste time considering moral rights and wrongs, and taking a stand about something you believe in, when it’s so much easier and more fashionable just to sneer about high horses and self-righteousness?

Information – Northampton Town have NEVER won the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy! Where did you get that from?
