    As far as I’m aware, the Football League’s charging for the right to reprint their fixture lists arose when they got over the profound moral objection they had to people gambling on games via the pools by realising that they could get their hands on some of the filthy, filthy lucre themselves. Pardon my painfully unoriginal cynicism, but plus ça change…

    Fredorrarci, you don’t need to apologise for being cynical whenever the League’s affairs are being discussed. A healthy dose of scepticism is vital for all genuine football fans in this day and age!

    Best wishes to Tony in his fight against cancer. It’s marvellous that he’s finally got the official recognition that he deserves.
